Carter Promoted to Director of Virtual Design & Construction

Warfel Construction Company is pleased to announce Richard Carter has been promoted to Director of Virtual Design & Construction. In his new role, Carter will provide the overall vision responsibility of working with project stakeholders, overseeing the planning, strategizing and deployment of technology driven VDC implementation.

Carter joined Warfel in 2013 as Virtual Design and Construction Coordinator. Prior to joining Warfel, Carter worked in the Architectural/Interior Design industry with a focus on technology. He brings to Warfel more than 25 years of technology-focused project experience, most recently as a Project/IT/BIM Manager at Cornerstone Design-Architects.

Carter is a committee member of the Central Pennsylvania Revit User Group, and a promoter of BIM/VDC, presenting at industry conferences and events. He is also a Lancaster County Council of Churches building committee member.

Carter lives in Lancaster with his wife and four daughters.

Warfel Welcomes New Controller

Warfel Construction Company is pleased to announce Kristi Reed has joined Warfel as Controller. In her role, Reed will strategically develop department long-term goals and objectives to streamline processes and increase efficiencies. In addition, she will support the CFO in maintaining complete and accurate financial records.

Reed is a graduate of University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Prior to joining Warfel, Reed worked in public accounting, beginning her career at Arthur Andersen and KMPG. She brings to Warfel several years of construction accounting experience, most recently as the Controller at Brubacher Excavating in Bowmansville, PA.

She is a current member of the Construction Financial Management Association.

Costalas Promoted to Lead Estimator

Warfel Construction Company is pleased to announce John Costalas, LEED AP, has been promoted to Lead Estimator. In his new role, Costalas will oversee the development of all estimates generated out of the East Petersburg Office, and will play a significant role in the recruiting, hiring and training of the East Petersburg-based estimating team.

A graduate of Penn State University, Costalas joined Warfel in 2008 as Project Engineer. Costalas moved to the Estimating Department in 2013, and to date, has estimated projects totaling more than $147 million.

Swope Promoted to Operations Manager

Warfel Construction Company is pleased to announce Conlan Swope, LEED AP, has been promoted to Operations Manager.

Swope joined Warfel in 2008 and most recently served as Assistant Manager of Operations. In his new position, he will be responsible to manage the firm’s 100+ field operations and office operations employees, including manpower needs, logistics, and quality control. He will also serve on Warfel’s executive team.

Swope graduated from Solanco High School and the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. He is a LEED (Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design) Accredited Professional.
