National Apprenticeship Week 2020: Meet Noah Lewis

November 14, 2020 - Written by: Warfel Marketing Dept.

National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is a nationwide celebration that gives businesses, communities, and educators the opportunity to showcase their apprenticeship programs and apprentices while providing valuable information to career seekers. We’re excited to highlight our talented apprentices who are working toward becoming the next generation of skilled carpenters at Warfel Construction. Check out our featured employee today, and follow along all week as we learn more about the team members who make Warfel a leader in the construction management industry.

Apprentice Noah Lewis

Describe what you do at Warfel: I do framing, drywall finishing, painting, demo, cleaning ,etc. I’m a second-year apprentice.

Where did you go to high school? I was homeschooled.

How long have you worked at Warfel? Two and a half years

What is your favorite part of your job? Not knowing what everyday will bring.

What is the worst job you ever had? I have never had a bad job.

What is your most exciting accomplishment?
Getting married and buying a house and having a son at the age of 25.

What advice do you have for high school students considering a career in construction?
Definitely try it out.  It’s not for everyone but you don’t know until you try.  There are a lot of different opportunities and stuff is always being built so construction is always needed.

What advice would you give someone applying to Warfel?
Stick with it – it might not always be glamorous.  If you are consistent and can get on a jobsite with people you work well with you can excel.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned in your career?
Being consistent and if you make a mistake, own up to it.

If you could switch jobs with someone, who would it be/what would you do?
A police officer, I always wanted to do that my whole life.

What do you wish people knew about apprenticeship?
It can be boring, but you will learn new things.  Stick with it because it’s worth it in the end.  It’s a great alternative to going to college and paying for tuition.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Playing sports and working on my house

What’s a fun fact about you that we might not know? I am one of nine kids.

Noah and his wife Amanda
