Warfel Construction Company was recently awarded a $2.6 million contract to expand the Kennett Area YMCA located in Kennett Square, PA. Two separate additions, totaling nearly 14,100 square feet, will be constructed. The project includes a new Wellness Studio and Family Activity Center that will provide members more fitness opportunities and accommodate the hundreds of group exercise classes offered each week. Additionally, an expanded Aquatic Center will feature a new warm-water family-friendly pool to increase swim classes and provide comfort for swimmers as young as six months of age. The Project, designed by Kennett Square architect Bernardon Haber Holloway Architects PC is scheduled to start October 1st and be complete by May 2013. Warfel Senior Project Manager Mike Dorgan and Superintendent Jeff Rosengrant will oversee the construction.
