Because the city of Lancaster was looking to sell the Southern Market Center, the Chamber’s location since 1988, they were in need of a new home. Staying centrally located in the city was a driving factor. Throughout the search, Warfel assisted the client, providing estimates to help them determine the feasibility of different options. Our Virtual Design and Construction team provided 3-D renderings enabling the Chamber to visualize the possibilities at the different locations they were considering.
After searching for several years with no success, the Chamber finally purchased the former Engle Hambright and Davies building at 115 East King Street. Empty since 2015, and not renovated or updated since the early 1990s, the building was in desperate need of an overhaul, structurally and aesthetically, including a much-needed facelift to the facade.
