Warfel Construction Company has been awarded a $14.8 million contract by the West Chester University Student Housing Foundation to build five three-story buildings and an expansion to the clubhouse at the University’s Village Housing complex located on the south end of the campus. Encompassing over 105,000 total square feet, the apartment style buildings will house 264 students in 66 four bedroom units. The clubhouse will have a fitness center added and the food service space will be upgraded. Designed by Voith and Mactavish Architects of Philadelphia, the project is scheduled for completion in August of 2013. A ground breaking ceremony was held on Wednesday, August 29.
