HR Coordinator – East Petersburg, PA
Warfel Construction is seeking an enthusiastic HR Coordinator to join our growing, people-focused team. This role will provide vital support to the HR department in areas such as recruiting, new hire administration, and other HR functions. The HR Coordinator will report directly to the HR Manager and will be based in East Petersburg, PA.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all HR functions comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support recruiting efforts by preparing job postings, coordinating and scheduling interviews, drafting offer letters, and managing pre-employment requirements.
- Conduct phone screenings and interviews for entry-level positions as needed.
- Organize orientation schedules for new hires and assist with onboarding paperwork and orientation binders alongside the HR Generalist.
- Assist with university relations, including career fair strategies and internship program coordination.
- Follow up with candidates after the recruitment process.
- Complete and verify I-9 forms and documentation in compliance with federal guidelines.
- Manage clearance paperwork, including PA state police, child abuse clearances, and FBI fingerprinting.
- Oversee employee programs, such as Random Drug Testing, 90-Day Reviews, Service Anniversaries, and OSHA class attendance.
- Support the HR and leadership teams during the annual performance review process.
- Track and document employee training and continued education as part of Warfel’s training program.
- Collaborate with marketing to produce the weekly newsletter.
- Maintain confidentiality in all HR interactions and processes across the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field is preferred.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and sometimes high-pressure environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a customer-service mindset are essential.
- Familiarity with HR practices and procedures.

Physical Requirements:
- The role requires working primarily in an office setting, including prolonged sitting at a desk and computer use.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally.
- Some travel to job sites within a 1–2 hour radius may be required as tasks demand.
- Frequent use of a telephone and navigating the office environment is essential.
