Preconstruction Manager – CS – East Petersburg, PA

Warfel Construction Company is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join our Construction Services team in East Petersburg, PA. In this role, you will work closely with clients, design consultants, and other project stakeholders to successfully complete program, design, and preconstruction milestones as part of the selected project delivery method.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with departments like Business Development, Estimating, and Operations to define project approaches and deliverables during the preconstruction phase.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Coordinate client requests with the project team.
  • Assemble preconstruction deliverables.
  • Lead and participate in the Value Management process.
  • Develop preconstruction schedules, master project schedules, project phasing, and site logistic plans.
  • Manage the estimating process for both Preconstruction and Hard Bid projects.
  • Coordinate and secure necessary project permits.
  • Lead constructability review processes.
  • Review contracts with clients and participate in contract negotiations.
  • Assist in transitioning projects to the construction phase.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on procurement strategies and planning.
  • Contribute to proposal preparation and presentations.
  • Provide accurate and competitive estimates, including schematic estimates.
  • Guide and lead the assigned project team.
  • Collect and track historical cost data.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trade partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management focusing on management.
  • At least 5 years of preconstruction management or estimating experience.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and the construction process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership ability in managing a team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, design teams, and construction teams.
  • Experience with Destini Software is a plus.
