Project Engineer – State College, PA
Warfel Construction is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our fast-paced, team-oriented organization in State College, Pennsylvania. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams on commercial construction projects from preconstruction through project completion.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and eager to build a career in construction management. Project Engineers play a critical role in project coordination, communication, documentation, and jobsite support to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Regular jobsite visits are required to maintain communication with field teams, monitor project progress, and support project execution.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Field Engineers throughout the life of a project.
- Maintain regular communication with jobsite teams through site visits, phone calls, and project meetings.
- Assist with project procurement, including developing scope sheets and coordinating with vendors and subcontractors.
- Prepare and process change orders using Procore Construction Software.
- Review, prepare, and distribute Requests for Information (RFIs) and track responses.
- Coordinate submittal review and approval processes to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Monitor submittal status and follow up on outstanding items.
- Conduct subcontractor coordination meetings and pre-installation meetings.
- Prepare meeting agendas and document meeting minutes.
- Support project documentation, scheduling, and communication efforts.
- Assist with additional project management functions based on project requirements and client needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1–2 years of construction management, engineering, or related construction experience preferred.
- Previous experience as a Field Engineer or similar role is a plus.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and project coordination.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Procore or other construction management software is beneficial.
