This new, state-of-the-art senior living facility at Leisure World of Maryland is a modern two-floor building designed with both functionality and comfort in mind. The structure houses various amenities, including dedicated spaces for vendors, staff offices, and meeting rooms for both staff and residents. Construction for the new building began in March 2023, with the main phase of construction being completed in August 2024. This marks a significant milestone for the community, as the previous administration building, which had stood for nearly 60 years, was demolished during one of the last stages of the project.
In addition to the new building, the final phase of the project, completed in November 2024, involved a significant upgrade to the surrounding infrastructure. The development includes a newly paved parking area that accommodates 18 ADA-designated spaces, ensuring accessibility for all residents and visitors. The project also included extensive improvements to the exterior, with newly installed sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and enhanced lighting that will provide safety and ease of access for residents and guests. Thoughtful landscaping was also incorporated into the design to create a visually appealing and tranquil environment. With these upgrades, the facility is poised to continue supporting its community for many years to come.
