New Easton Location & Expansion Overview
The New Easton Location & Expansion reflects a collaborative process between CarMax and Warfel from early planning through completion. CarMax chose to partner directly with Warfel’s preconstruction team in 2017 to develop pricing and refine project direction. As a result, the team aligned scope and cost early, which supported a clear path forward and reduced the need for a formal bid process. This early involvement also created a shared understanding of project priorities, which helped guide decisions as planning progressed.
Preconstruction Coordination for the New Easton Location & Expansion
During preconstruction, Warfel worked closely with CarMax to evaluate options and provide practical recommendations. Because of this approach, the project team identified opportunities to maintain budget alignment while supporting operational goals. Coordination remained consistent, allowing decisions to be made efficiently and with a clear understanding of project impacts. This process also helped reduce uncertainty, as each step was informed by ongoing communication and collaboration.
Expansion Scope and Site Enhancements
In 2022, Warfel returned to support the New Easton Location & Expansion through a significant facility addition. The expansion introduced a comprehensive service center to support ongoing vehicle operations, while also adding 11 acres of expanded parking and drive areas to improve site functionality. A fueling station was incorporated to support daily operational needs, and a Final Quality Control building added dedicated space for vehicle review. These additions were integrated with the existing facility, which helped maintain consistency across the site.
Supporting Long-Term Facility Use
The New Easton Location & Expansion reflects a thoughtful approach to both initial development and future growth. Warfel’s continued involvement allowed the team to build on earlier decisions while adapting to new requirements. Because of this continuity, the project supports CarMax’s operational needs with a cohesive and functional environment. The completed work positions the facility to support ongoing activity while maintaining efficiency across the site.
