The renovations at Piazza Volkswagen Ardmore in Ardmore, Pennsylvania converted a former SAAB dealership into a new Volkswagen dealership facility. The project emerged as Piazza’s existing Volkswagen dealership building was being demolished and redeveloped. Recognizing an opportunity along Lancaster Avenue, Piazza turned to Warfel to repurpose an existing structure that had remained vacant and deteriorated for years. As a result, the project moved forward within the existing building while introducing a refreshed dealership environment for continued use.

The renovations at Piazza Volkswagen Ardmore required significant updates to a structure that had fallen into disuse. To prepare the building for new construction, the team demolished much of the existing three-layer brick exterior. This work allowed the structure to support the needs of a Volkswagen dealership. In turn, the team adapted the existing building while aligning it with the project’s operational requirements. This process ensured the building could support both customer-facing and operational functions.
Structural Upgrades and Facility Features
The project introduced key features that support dealership operations within a multi-level structure. A new car elevator allows vehicles to move efficiently between floors. In addition, the team added service bays to the second floor to support maintenance and repair functions. These updates created a layout that allows efficient use of vertical space. As a result, the integrated features support daily operations within a clear and organized environment while maintaining functionality throughout the facility.
Coordinated Redevelopment Process
Warfel coordinated the redevelopment process to transition the building from a dormant condition into an active dealership. From the outset, the team aligned the structure with the needs of Piazza Volkswagen of Ardmore. This approach supported the integration of new systems while working within the existing building. Ultimately, the completed renovations reflect a practical and organized transformation that supports ongoing dealership operations within a single facility.
