Located off of Interstate 83 in York, PA, The Residence at Fitz Farm is situated on a site steeped in community history. The new facility offers a combined 130 units of independent living, assisted living, and memory care living options. A short-term respite care program is also available, where guests of the community have access to various types of care, such as medication management and optional therapy.
Residents can enjoy a number of innovative features, including decontaminating ionizers to reduce virus transmission and smart locks designed to increase access for residents with mobility aids. Those in assisted living units have access to in-house chefs and a 24-hour personal care team. With the inclusion of a wide variety of comfort and entertainment options, including a bistro, theater, salon, and a fitness and therapy suite, the building is an instrumental piece in providing a full-continuum campus to serve seniors residing in York County and the surrounding areas.
Construction on this facility began in November 2021, with the team identifying and alleviating unsuitable soil conditions prior to the commencement of foundation work and paving. This three-story building is constructed over a basement level and is comprised of wood framing, concrete retaining walls, CMU stair and elevator towers, and structural steel elements throughout.
