Steve Davis Promoted to Vice President Virginia by Warfel Construction

East Petersburg, PA – Warfel Construction announces that Steve Davis will be joining the executive team and has been appointed Vice President, Virginia.

According to Conlan Swope LEED AP, Vice President of Operations, Davis has been instrumental in leading their Virginia expansion initiative as part of the company’s strategic plan.

“Steve has been working tirelessly over the past three years to help build our team in Virginia, set up regional operations, and establish new Clients for Life in the region,” Swope stated. “We are excited to have Steve’s insight and regional experience help provide strategic direction for the organization.”

As Vice President, Virginia, Davis will continue to lead Warfel’s strategic expansion into the region. With a wide range of experience specifically with complex, multi-phased renovation and expansion projects, Davis has a passion for developing long-term relationships with Clients for Life and providing them with best-in-class experiences.

Davis’ experience with Warfel has included noteworthy projects such as Avenue Development: The Residence at Fitz Farm, Westminster Canterbury Shenandoah Valley, Acadia Reading Hospital, Pleasant View Hybrid Homes, among others.

Warfel Construction Welcomes Director of Healthcare

Warfel Construction Company is pleased to announce that Robert “BJ” Allen, PE, has been hired as Director of Healthcare. In this new role, Allen will provide leadership and expertise focused on the growth of Warfel’s healthcare market, supporting our team from the proposal phase through construction as they successfully execute work in this market sector.

“This is an exciting milestone for Warfel. BJ’s experience in healthcare allows us to expand our capabilities in this market,” said Brett Calabretta, Vice President. “We look forward to supporting BJ as we continue to serve our existing healthcare clients while developing new Clients for Life.”

A graduate of Pensacola Christian College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Allen spent more than two decades as a design consultant focused on the healthcare market prior to joining Warfel.

Allen lives in Palmyra, PA with his wife, Amy.

Kingree Transitions to Director of Business Development

Warfel Construction Company is pleased to announce that Guy Kingree has transitioned to the role of Director of Business Development. In this role, Kingree will be responsible for providing leadership to the company’s business development team, coordinating pursuit of potential projects, and creating strategies to partner with Clients for Life.

“Guy’s high initiative, strong work ethic, and commitment to his clients and teammates have allowed him to successfully grow and take on new challenges at Warfel,” said Brett Calabretta, Vice President. “We are eager to have Guy’s experience managing complex projects infused into our business development approach.”

A graduate of Penn State University, Kingree joined Warfel in 2009 as a Project Engineer. He served as a member of Warfel’s project management team, and most recently was promoted to Project Executive in 2016.

Kingree lives in Denver, PA with his wife Jackie and son Crew.

Cotter Promoted to Director of Preconstruction & Estimating

Warfel Construction Company is pleased to announce the promotion of Sean Cotter, LEED GA to Director of Preconstruction & Estimating. In this new role, Cotter leads the newly-combined Preconstruction & Estimating teams, initiating client engagement early in the project development process and setting projects on a path for success by providing input on cost, schedule, logistics, constructability and other key influencers. Cotter will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Preconstruction & Estimating Department and ensuring a collaborative approach to leading projects through the design phase.

“We continuously look for opportunities to enhance our client’s experience and improve our processes,” said Brett Calabretta, Vice President at Warfel Construction. “By combining these two departments we feel we will achieve both. Sean has been a key contributor to our estimating department and his leadership will allow us to continue the momentum that has been built over the past several years.”

Cotter joined Warfel in 2011 as a Project Estimator. He most recently served as Director of Estimating.

Cotter graduated from Millersville University with a B.S. in Psychology and Harrisburg Area Community College with a B.S. in Estimating. He is a LEED (Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design) Green Associate.

Cotter lives in Lititz, PA with his wife Kristen and daughters Mackenzie and Payton.

Describe what you do at Warfel: I oversee the safety and health of our employees and our projects.

In your words, why is safety so important? Preventing accidents, injuries, and illnesses provides benefits for our employees, such as good health, long life, and a rewarding and prosperous career.

Where did you go to school? Lampeter-Strasburg and Millersville University.

How long have you worked at Warfel? 10 years

What did you do before you came to Warfel? Worked for the City of Lancaster Bureau of Fire

What is your favorite part of your job? Seeing our employees succeed at our projects and in their careers.

What is the worst job you ever had? I worked for Mann Tobacco Company as a laborer on North Prince St. during a summer when I was in high school.

What is your most exciting accomplishment? Marrying my wife, Terry and raising our children and enjoying our grandchildren.

What advice would you give someone applying to Warfel? Warfel is a great company. You can go as far as you want to in your career, if you are a team player, hard worker, and have a great attitude.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned in your career? Put yourself in other people’s shoes. Show empathy, compassion, confidence and have a positive outlook.

What has changed the most since you’ve started your career? The use of technology in the construction industry and the addition of new safety and health regulations.

What’s your favorite part of working in the construction industry? I love to see the skills and talents of our employees and subcontractors when I see the completion of the beautiful buildings.

What do you think is the most challenging part of the construction industry? The ability to provide safety training and education on a regular basis. I see this changing soon with the advancement of technology. The future technology will provide the capability to bring the training and education right to the job sites for all our employees.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Spending time with my family and traveling to new locations.
