The groundbreaking at SVWC marks Warfel’s first project under construction in Virginia, located a few minutes away from the firm’s new office in Winchester.

Warfel Breaks Ground on Senior Care Facility

East Petersburg, PA – On November 19, Warfel broke ground on a new senior care facility for Avenue Development. Located off Interstate 83 in York, PA, the 124,000 square-foot building, named The Residence at Fitz Farm, will offer a combined 130-units of independent living, assisted living, and memory care facilities. The facility will also offer a short-term respite care program, where guests of the community will have access to various types of care, such as medication management and occupational therapy.

The Residence at Fitz Farm will boast a number of innovative features, including decontaminating ionizers to reduce virus transmission and smart locks designed to increase access for those with mobility aids. Those in assisted living units will have access to in-house chefs and a 24-hour personal care team. With the inclusion of a wide variety of comfort and entertainment options for residents, including a bistro, theater, salon, and a fitness and therapy suite, the building will be an instrumental structure in providing a full-continuum campus to serve the seniors within York County and the surrounding area.

Warfel is partnering with Roseman and Associates and Site Design Concepts on this project, with construction scheduled to wrap up in early 2023.

Warfel Construction Company is pleased to partner with Beaumont at Bryn Mawr on their community renovation project. This $20 million, logistically challenging façade remodel encompasses thirteen villas, two apartment buildings, and the Nursing and Commons Building at Beaumont. Concealed existing conditions requires the team to adapt to any new discoveries they may make as construction progresses. Additionally, unique phasing schedules had to be created, as all residents are remaining in their respective units while construction is underway.

Warfel is partnering with Lenhardt Rogers Architecture and Interiors, Moore Engineering Co., and Intertek on this project.

Construction will wrap up in the latter half of 2023.
