Warfel Construction Company recently began construction on two new Walgreen’s stores in Hagerstown, MD, both being developed by Phillips Edison of Salt Lake City, UT. Store #1, approximately 12,000 sq. ft., is located at the intersection of Route 40 and Edgewood Drive. Less than five miles away at Virginia Avenue and Halfway Blvd., is the slightly smaller store #2. Both stores feature drive-up pharmacy windows and a newly updated corporate exterior design. Combined, the construction cost of the stores is approximately $4.5 million. Anticipated completion is scheduled for January 2013. Overseeing the project for Warfel is Senior Project Manager, Fred Lohss, and Field Superintendent, Dave Thompson. Warfel has recently completed 6 additional Walgreens, primarily in central Pennsylvania.
