A joint-venture between Acadia Healthcare and Tower Health, this 90,809 square foot facility provides a full spectrum of behavioral health services. With 144 beds, the hospital operates within 12 wings. Thirteen patients occupy six two-bed and one single room per wing. The hospital includes inpatient adolescent, adult, and geriatric psychiatric care; partial hospitalization; intensive outpatient program services; outpatient counseling; physician professional services and consultation; and chemical dependency treatment.
The 88-acre site (with 46 acres developed) also houses an adjacent two-story, 30,000 square foot medical office building, owned by Concord Health and operated by Tower Health. Numerous site conditions including rock, sinkholes, and unsuitable soils created numerous challenges early on, however, Warfel worked closely with the project owners and consultants to minimize the impact on the overall schedule. An April 2020 completion is expected for both projects.
Warfel’s in-house Virtual Design and Construction team were integral to the MEP coordination efforts, collaborating with the numerous MEP trade partners on constructability reviews and clash detection, proactively eliminating costly rework in the field.
