Describe what you do at Warfel: I do framing, drywall finishing, painting, demo, cleaning ,etc. I’m a second-year apprentice.
Where did you go to high school? I was homeschooled.
How long have you worked at Warfel? Two and a half years
What is your favorite part of your job? Not knowing what everyday will bring.
What is the worst job you ever had? I have never had a bad job.
What is your most exciting accomplishment?
Getting married and buying a house and having a son at the age of 25.
What advice do you have for high school students considering a career in construction?
Definitely try it out. It’s not for everyone but you don’t know until you try. There are a lot of different opportunities and stuff is always being built so construction is always needed.
What advice would you give someone applying to Warfel?
Stick with it – it might not always be glamorous. If you are consistent and can get on a jobsite with people you work well with you can excel.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned in your career?
Being consistent and if you make a mistake, own up to it.
If you could switch jobs with someone, who would it be/what would you do?
A police officer, I always wanted to do that my whole life.
What do you wish people knew about apprenticeship?
It can be boring, but you will learn new things. Stick with it because it’s worth it in the end. It’s a great alternative to going to college and paying for tuition.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Playing sports and working on my house
What’s a fun fact about you that we might not know? I am one of nine kids.
