Warfel Construction Company was recently named General Contractor of the Year at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter’s 24th Merit Construction Awards of Excellence program. The award is largely determined by trade contractor and supplier member votes, along with client satisfaction, safety efforts and overall performance. Ralph Simpson, Warfel CEO, states: “We are grateful that our construction peers hold Warfel in such high esteem. We greatly appreciate all of the strong relationships we have forged throughout the years. The success of our projects is due in large part to these partners.”
At the event, Warfel also received three project awards including an Award of Excellence and two Merit Awards. The awards program recognizes outstanding projects throughout eastern Pennsylvania built by ABC contractors. The Award of Excellence was received in the Institutional – Educational category for the Westtown School Science Building Expansion and Renovation project. Warfel’s Merit Awards included the Expansion and Renovation of the Kennett Area YMCA and the new South Village Student Housing at West Chester University.
ABC Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter received 40 entries for this year’s awards program. The projects entered were substantially completed by Aug. 29, 2014. More than 36 industry experts representing a cross-section of professionals, including architects, owners, developers and other construction industry leaders, judged the projects.
