The need for additional administrative space drove Penn Medicine / Lancaster General Health to secure two new locations, which would house more than 400 employees in Lancaster, PA. The two buildings (Commercial Avenue and Lititz Mill) procured were very large, but vastly outdated for today’s class-A office space standards. Total renovated space exceeded 200,000 square feet.
To create efficiencies in schedule and systems quality, Warfel initiated a design-assist approach on both projects for electrical and mechanical scopes of work.
Highlights from each building include:
Commercial Avenue (120,000 sf)
- complete interior demolition of interior finishes and some structural members
- complete lighting replacement and installation of light tubes throughout
- HVAC work included relocation of grilles and diffusers to accommodate new layouts
Lititz Mill Building (87,000 sf)
- complete interior demolition of interior finishes and some structural members
- installation of new stairway and elevator
- complete lighting replacement and HVAC upgrades
