Formerly a fitness center, this project included a complete interior renovation to turn the building into a new home for Manheim Family Practice as well as Lancaster General Health Physical Therapy. A five month Preconstruction process allowed the client to best configure the space to provide all necessary services to their patients.
The 8-month construction schedule resulted in a space that was transformed into state-of-the-art offices, exam rooms, outpatient labs, and physical therapy areas. Our team specifically focused on coordinating the exterior of the building, adding stone and canopies, to match Lancaster General Health’s existing buildings throughout their service area. During construction, the team discovered that the soil had insufficient bearing capacity for the weight of the new entrance canopies. To resolve this, our team worked with structural and geotechnical engineers to create a new design, featuring helical steel piles, which were drilled underground to stabilize the soil prior to the placement of the foundations.
